Tropical Update for Saturday, September 20, 2025

As of 5AM Saturday:

Tropical Storm Gabrielle- The center of Tropical Storm Gabrielle was located near latitude 24.3 North, longitude 58.1 West. Gabrielle is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue through tonight. A turn toward the north-northwest is forecast on Sunday, followed by a turn toward the north and northeast Monday and Monday night. On the forecast track, the center of Gabrielle is expected to pass east of Bermuda Sunday night and Monday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast, and Gabrielle is expected to become a hurricane by Sunday.

Eastern Tropical Atlantic- A tropical wave over the eastern Atlantic is producing disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity well southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
