One person dead after Augusta Mall shooting; deputies cleared out mall store by store

One teen is dead, and another teen is in custody facing a murder charge after a fistfight escalated into a shooting on Tuesday at Augusta Mall.

The family of the victim, 17-year-old Devon McClain of Augusta, has been notified, Richmond County Sheriff Eugene Brantley said at a press conference at one of the mall entrances. Officers caught a suspect, Tyric Kendarius Logan, 16, of Augusta, on mall property. In an email sent Tuesday night, the sheriff’s office stated it was seeking warrants to charge Logan as an adult with murder.
