AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Augusta commissioners have weeks to address a $21 million budget deficit before finalizing the 2026 budget.
The shortfall stems from rising costs, including more than 120 new deputy positions, healthcare expenses and federal debt. These factors could force changes to daily city services.
