Gov. McMaster honored at sanctuary’s 50th anniversary celebration

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. — Gov. Henry McMaster visited Silver Bluff Sanctuary on Saturday for an event honoring the sanctuary’s 50th anniversary.

McMaster received Audubon’s Conservation Champion Award during the celebration.

Golden Harvest Food Bank is preparing to help those in need as the federal government shutdown reaches 30 days, leaving SNAP benefits at risk as early as Nov. 1.

“The Audubon Society has done a magnificent job over the years, and I think that our goal here of setting aside about 10 million and a half of our acres for preservation to help all the animals, it’ll help our breathing, it’ll be a wonderful thing for nature, and that’s what people thrive on,” said McMaster…
