AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – As SNAP benefits continue to hang in the balance in Washington, more local organizations are stepping up for the CSRA no matter what happens.
With appointments for food assistance booked for three weeks, Area Churches Together Serving Aiken, or ACTS of Aiken, decided to start an emergency food bank to help the community as long as is needed.
And for volunteer Zane Henry, who experienced homelessness for two years, he says the organization is able to relate to people going through struggle because the organization is full of people that have experienced those same struggles…
