Hope & Help: Salvation Army offers free meals, emergency services as SNAP benefits face partial funding

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Amid the government shutdown, the Salvation Army of Augusta is stepping up to help residents facing food insecurity and other financial challenges.

The organization offers free boxed meals through their Center of Hope soup kitchen at 5:30 p.m. daily, but Derek Dugan, Director of Development for the Salvation Army of Augusta, said they provide assistance beyond just meals.
