Augusta residents can expect temperatures in the 20s Monday evening, with highs later this week reaching the low 70s, according to the National Weather Service.
“We’re expecting the most impactful weather today and tonight,” Pierce Larkin, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Columbia, South Carolina, said on Monday. “We’ll see really strong winds gusting upwards of 35 miles per hour this afternoon, maybe 40 miles per hour at times this afternoon and evening.
“Tonight, we’re expecting low temperatures to get down in the mid to upper 20s. Anyone that has any sensitive plants outside should cover them to protect them from the cold.”
