Three-year-old shot in downtown Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) — A three-year-old child is recovering after a shooting in downtown Augusta early Sunday morning.

Deputies on a downtown proactive patrol heard several gunshots around 2:28 a.m. near 10th Street between Broad and Ellis. When they arrived, they saw people running from the area and detained three individuals.

A short time later, deputies found a woman at 9th and Greene with a three-year-old who had a gunshot wound. The child was taken to Wellstar for treatment…
