AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Approving a balanced budget is taking time, and city leaders say it will take cuts.
“We’re turning over every leaf, George. If anybody who watched the commission budget session yesterday, as well as the budget sessions in the past, we’ve been looking at every opportunity to try to find cuts,” said Mayor Pro-Tem Wayne Guilfoyle.
But cuts could cost city workers. The proposed budget is calling for $3 million in raises for employees next year, but that looks to be on the chopping block…
