Augusta fire crews deal with downtown construction closure

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Augusta Fire Department is adapting its emergency response procedures as a section of Broad Street remains closed for construction over the next three weeks.

Broad Street from St. Sebastian Way to 13th Street is closed in both directions. Crews were pouring concrete Monday morning as part of the ongoing downtown construction project.

A motorcyclist was badly injured during a crash Sunday morning, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
