On November 26, 2025, Augusta, Georgia, named Kymber Keaton, M.S. EM, as the new Director of the Augusta-Richmond County Emergency Management Agency (EMA). Keaton was chosen after a multi-stage interview process that included input from public safety officials.
Keaton is originally from Scottsdale, Arizona. She has nearly ten years of experience in emergency management, disaster response, and homeland security. Her previous roles include work with the United States Air Force, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, and the White House Operations Center. She has managed responses to emergencies such as COVID-19, wildfires, earthquakes, and severe storms.
Keaton has worked with three presidential administrations and partnered with agencies like FEMA, the U.S. Secret Service, and the National Park Service.
