AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) — An investigation is underway this morning after an inmate was found unresponsive at the Aiken County Detention Center.
Deputies say a detention officer made the discovery during a routine check. Staff and EMS tried life-saving measures, but the inmate did not survive.
As procedure, SLED and the Aiken County Coroner’s Office are now handling the investigation. The inmate’s name is being held until family is notified…
