Via Cognitive Health holds 2nd annual Lights for Memories service

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Via Cognitive Health held its second annual Lights for Memories service on Tuesday night in Augusta.

“It’s just a way to remember those who have dementia and also to honor those who have dementia,” said Cammie Jones, president of the Via Cognitive Health board. “We are a day center for for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s, and they are day to day activities, from exercise to art to kind of learning exercises that help with brain health throughout the day.”

Jones added, “My father has dementia and so I am very interested in Alzheimer’s and dementia and I’ve served on the board for several years and this year on the board chair. So I’m here to help people understand and take away the stigma of dementia and Alzheimer’s and also to showcase this beautiful building that we have that’s helping people with dementia every day. “…
