AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Historic Meadow Garden held candlelight tours to educate visitors about Christmas celebrations during the American Revolution, focusing on the experiences of George Walton, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
The tours highlighted what the holidays were like for Walton during the Revolutionary War period, offering a historical perspective on Christmas traditions of the era.
“Just that this is such a special, this next year as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of our country. We had a family, and there was a grandmother with a little boy.
