Local author shares children’s book on navigating emotions at Augusta Barnes & Noble

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – A local author spent the day connecting with young readers at Barnes & Noble in Augusta, sharing her new children’s book focused on understanding and managing emotions.

Eva Creel is the author of The Gobblers, a humorous and imaginative story that explores how anger and negativity can grow when we “feed” them—and how kindness and understanding can help make those feelings smaller and easier to manage.

Creel says the idea for the book came from a personal moment with her children, when she noticed how easily negative words and emotions can take hold if left unchecked. In the story, “feeding the gobbler” becomes a symbol for giving in to anger or unkind thoughts, which only makes those emotions harder to control…
