Rich. Co. School System seeks community input on proposed long-term master plan

Some changes could be coming to the Richmond County School System, and district leaders say they want to hear directly from the community before any decisions are made.

The proposed long-term master plan includes potential school closures, building improvements, and consolidations across the district.  While many neighbors say they welcome possible upgrades to aging facilities, some alumni are asking for clarity on whether the name of a school deeply rooted in Augusta’s Black history could change.

T.W.
