AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) –With Martin Luther King Jr. Day approaching, thousands gathered downtown Saturday to honor the civil rights leader’s legacy during Augusta’s annual MLK Jr. Parade.
From schools and churches to civic and community organizations, marchers filled the streets in a show of unity and remembrance. Augusta’s deep ties to the civil rights movement made the event both a celebration of progress and a reminder of the work that remains.
