Augusta under winter storm watch, EMA prepares

Augusta officials held an emergency meeting on Thursday with the Emergency Operations Center to review preparedness efforts ahead of a potential winter storm expected to impact Augusta this weekend.

During the briefing, the city’s Emergency Management Agency shared the latest forecast information with the public that the county is now under a Winter Storm Watch, according to a news release.  Current projections state that the primary threats associated with this system include black ice and potential power outages.
