AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to take steps to prevent vehicle break-ins as it says there’s been a sharp increase in the crimes.
“So far this year we have had 119 vehicle break ins compared to 48 at this time last year, which represents an increase of approximately 148 percent,” Chief Lewis Blanchard said in a statement.
