Hearings rescheduled on Richmond County school changes

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Richmond County Schools has rescheduled public hearings on proposed changes to the district after weather forced delays.

Two public hearings will be held next month to discuss recommendations that include closing Josey High School and Murphey Middle School to create a college and career academy. The proposals also call for closing Jenkins White Elementary School and demolishing Barton Chapel Elementary School to build a new facility.
