Pepper ball used after inmates refuse lockdown at Richmond County jail

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A deputy deployed a pepper ball Thursday to control inmates who refused lockdown orders at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to a press release, around 3 p.m. on Thursday, a deputy assigned to the detention center was attempting to secure a housing block by initiating lockdown procedures.
