Augusta weather: warm-up then cool-down, with rain chances this week

Augusta residents can expect temperatures in the high 70s and low 40s this week, with a chance of scattered showers in the forecast, according to forecasters with the National Weather Service.

“We’re going to have a brief warm-up over the next couple of days,” said Drew Hickok, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Columbia, South Carolina, on Monday. “Temperatures today should be close to normal, in the low 60s near Augusta.”

Tuesday temperatures will reach the mid 70s, said Hickok.
