Davidson Fine Arts students celebrate Black History Month with ‘Journey to Harlem’

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Students at Davidson Fine Arts are celebrating Black History Month through song, dance and poetry with their latest production “Journey to Harlem.”

The show highlights the Harlem Renaissance, a cultural movement during the 1920s and early 1930s when African American art, music and literature flourished in Harlem, New York.

Aiken County Public Schools has raised the maximum salary for athletic trainers as the district continues to work to fill much-needed positions that have remained vacant.

School leaders say students prepare all year for this performance, not just through rehearsals. They also train physically to build the stamina needed for the show…
