GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A man is facing murder charges after an inmate was stabbed to death at the Augusta State Medical Prison, according to authorities.
Columbia County deputies say John Jaquis Trimier is charged with murder in the death of inmate Jerry Merritt.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident happened between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Jan. 20.
