AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4300 block of Peach Orchard Road late Tuesday for a reported domestic dispute.
Upon arrival around 11:25 p.m. on Feb. 17, deputies came in contact with the suspect who allegedly pointed a rifle at them. RCSO reports that an arriving deputy, identified as Deputy Kevin Clarke, shot the suspect at least once in the abdomen.
The suspect was transported to Wellstar Medical Center for treatment and has since been identified 23-year-old Jeff Otyson. He is currently in stable condition. No booking photo has been provided at this time.
