An off-duty Richmond County sheriff’s deputy was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash on Sunday.
The wreck occurred near the intersection of Washington Road and Charlestown Way. Deputies responding to the scene identified one of the drivers as Deputy Jeremiah Welch, driving his own vehicle. Deputies determined Welch was at fault for the collision.
