AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Hayne’s Station is one neighborhood that feels let down by Augusta.“Number one, some people said they didn’t get notification. Number two, how is it going to impact the community,” said Patricia Geter, of the combined neighborhood group, West Augusta 6.The new Gordon Highway data center is already impacting neighborhoods like Haynes Station.Residents said they felt blindsided.
This has commissioners pushing for new zoning language for future projects.
“Make sure we have an ordinance in place that’s strong enough to say what lessons we learned, what happened here on Gordon Highway, it doesn’t need to be near a neighborhood.
