Construction on Broad Street will shift into the median between 5th and 6th streets, prompting temporary lane closures in both directions, starting Monday.
To ensure worker safety, the inside lanes for eastbound and westbound traffic will be closed during this phase of the project, according to a news release from Augusta officials. However, drivers will still be able to travel through the area using the outside lanes, which will remain open.
