AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The STAR student program honored high-achieving students from across the CSRA during a ceremony held at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Sixteen students were recognized as STAR students. Among them, Annie Zhang was named the overall student winner. Her longtime teacher, Sierra Mannix, was also honored alongside her.
There are more than 30,000 Special Olympics athletes in South Carolina, and this fundraiser helps with year-round training and competition for those athletes.
