Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office were temporarily restricting traffic on Wednesday in an industrial area of the county in response to a report of a possible chemical leak.
Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 5:23 a.m. to the 1400 block of Columbia Nitrogen Drive to assist with traffic control while emergency crews assessed the situation, noted a news release. As a precaution, authorities limited the area to through traffic only as personnel worked to assess the situation.
