ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Augusta University softball split a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader at Flagler on Saturday, taking game one 5-4 before falling 4-3 in game two. The Jaguars move to 13-13 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
Game One
Augusta came out swinging in the second inning, loading the bases before Kaylynn Scaffe delivered a two-run single up the middle to give the Jaguars an early 2-0 lead. Flagler responded in the bottom half of the inning with three runs to take a 3-2 advantage.
The Jaguars answered in the fourth as Scaffe tripled down the right field line and Sydney Gilbert followed with an RBI double to regain the lead at 4-3. The Saints again responded, tying the game at 4-4 heading into the fifth.
Kaylynn Scaffe led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, while Sydney Gilbert added a key RBI double. Nevaeh Ross contributed with a hit and a run scored, continuing her consistent presence at the plate…
