AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Aiken Senior Life Services has reached its $2.5 million fundraising goal, securing meals and transportation for hundreds of seniors after government funding cuts nearly eliminated the program last year.
The organization feeds hundreds of Aiken County seniors through its Meals on Wheels program, with hundreds more on a waitlist that is now shrinking thanks to the fundraising campaign.
Georgia could become the first state to require every student to be checked for weapons when arriving at a public school each day.
