EDGEFIELD, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – An inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Edgefield County is back in custody after walking away from work detail, according to authorities.
The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 501 Gary Hill Road around 9 a.m. when inmate Johnathan Pineda-Diaz walked away from the FCI work camp.
Pineda-Diaz was seen walking toward the Augusta Road area near the National Wild Turkey Federation, according to the sheriff’s office.
Correctional officers from FCI Edgefield, along with deputies and law enforcement partners from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, initiated a search of the area…
