Augusta educator joins 9 others vying for title of Ga. Teacher of Year

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The state superintendent his released the full list of finalists for Georgia Teacher of the Year, including a culinary arts instructor at Butler High.

As we proeviously reported, Chef Kanesha Roberts was named a Top 10 finalist for the 2027 Georgia Teacher of the Year during a surprise presentation by State Superintendent Richard Woods.

High school students attended a college and career fair at the Richmond County Performance Learning Center.

“Chef Roberts represents the very best of what it means to be an educator in the Richmond County School System. She challenges her students to pursue excellence while making sure they feel supported, valued, and capable of achieving their goals.
