Augusta Transit rolls out some changes for tournament week

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Augusta Transit plans a few changes during Masters week, rerouting one bus line from a high-traffic area.

A $2 million grant for hurricane recovery efforts will help Augusta expand the sewage system in a south Augusta neighborhood.

The changes affect the Route 5 Green Line/Washington Road route:

  • Inbound (toward downtown) at the intersection of Washington Road/Alexander Drive, the bus will not turn left into Alexander Drive but continue straight on Washington Road.
  • Inbound riders for Kroger supermarket and downtown can board at Washington Square (Subway) or River Ridge Drive (opposite National Hills Baptist Church).
  • Outbound (toward Social Security Administration) riders for Kroger or Alexander Drive must board at River Ridge Drive (National Hills Baptist Church) or Fairway Square Shopping Center (Jersey Mike’s Subs).

Riders on the route should allow more time for their journeys due to sporadic and/or prolonged delays from Masters traffic…
