AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Golden Harvest Food Bank announced that it is expanding its Summer Harvest Program to South Carolina to make sure students have something to eat each day.
For many families, financial strain can increase when school meals disappear.
“A lot of families rely on school meals for breakfasts and lunches,” Muehlfeld, vice president of marketing at Golden Harvest Food Bank, said. “For a family who’s already having trouble making ends meet, it just makes it that much more difficult to pay bills.”
