Longtime Columbia County Manager Scott Johnson retiring

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Longtime Columbia County Manager Scott Johnson, who has wielded much power in the suburban Augusta community, is retiring.

His exit will take effect Jan. 2, 2027, concluding 18 years of leadership in one of Georgia’s fastest-growing counties.

“It is with a full heart and deep gratitude that I announce my retirement as your county manager,” Johnson said Monday in a statement. “Serving this remarkable county has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.”…
