Suspicious object found at Raffensperger campaign stop ahead of Augusta visit

MACON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Ahead of an Augusta stop by Georgia gubernatorial candidate Brad Raffensperger, a suspicious object was found at the airport in Macon, where he made a campaign stop Tuesday morning.

Explosives-sniffing canines detected the suspicious object in a secure area of the Middle Georgia Airport during a sweep.

The object inside a vending machine was later determined to be non-hazardous.

Bibb County deputies said they were alerted around 8:21 a.m…
