SLED charges Augusta man after Aiken County officer-involved shooting that closed I-20

AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has announced charges for an Augusta suspect connected to an officer-involved shooting in Aiken County.

Anthony Hayes Cantwell, 39, was charged on May 14 with two counts of Assault and Battery in the 1st Degree, Possession of Firearm or Ammunition by Person Convicted of Certain Crimes, and three counts of Pointing and Presenting a Firearm in connection to an incident that took place May 8 on I-20 near mile marker 23.
