DENVER (KDVR) — The Commerce City Police Department is teaming up with Union Pacific Railroad to catch drivers who try to speed through railroad crossings when trains approach.
Union Pacific Railroad train operators will now be watching for violators from the locomotive, then radio to police officers to catch the drivers, police said in a Facebook post.
“When you’re approaching a railroad crossing and the lights are flashing but the arm bars aren’t down yet, that’s not your cue to speed up and beat the bars— that’s illegal, not to mention extremely dangerous if you were to become stuck on the tracks,” police said…
