Paralyzed pup gets new wheels after going viral for wheelchair stolen from front porch

DENVER (KDVR) — A popular paralyzed dog was given a brand-new wheelchair after going viral when his wheelchair was stolen off the front porch of his Denver home.

Steve, a mini Australian Shepard, was paralyzed in February after playing fetch in the park. Now, he’s gained thousands of Instagram followers in his journey with new hind legs: two wheels. Usually, his Instagram shows him taking on sand and sidewalks, except on Wednesday, Steve was shown scootching through the house.

“Hey guys, it’s Steve and I don’t know what to do. I need your help because someone stole my wheelchair!! My mommy took it off of me when I went to sleep, but then when we went outside, it was gone. I looked for it, but I couldn’t get very far because I’m paralyzed and I can’t walk,” a video on Steve’s Instagram said.

Over 150,000 views later, Steve was able to get another wheelchair.

While Steve still hasn’t found his wheelchair, Walkin’ Pets, a pet mobility company in Aurora, heard about Steve’s stolen wheelchair and asked the pup to come in to be fitted for a free brand-new 2026 model…
