DENVER (KDVR) — U.S. 6 is closed in both directions through Clear Creek Canyon Thursday morning after heavy rain caused multiple rockslides, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Heavy rain fell in the early morning hours Thursday across the foothills, as the National Weather Service in Boulder issued a flood warning for the nearby Bear Creek due localized rainfall of as much as 3.5 inches.
While Clear Creek was not in the flood-warned area, the rain did cause multiple rockslides that are now blocking all lanes of traffic in the canyon west of Golden, according to CDOT.
