Vehicle crashes into thrift store on South Broadway

DENVER (KDVR) – Multiple people were inside a thrift store on Broadway around 6 p.m. when a vehicle crashed straight through the storefront, causing heavy damage.

FOX31 was on the scene after the crash at Second Street Thrift Store near Broadway and Bayaud, as a large number of firefighters and police officers responded.

Witnesses told FOX31 that the driver pulled out into traffic right into the path of an RTD bus, and that the bus driver didn’t have the time to stop.

A witness told FOX31 that the bus driver had ‘about five feet of space’ when they honked and slammed on the brakes; however, the bus still clipped the back of the car, spinning it around before momentum allegedly took it into the building.

The crash caused heavy backups during rush hour in the area. Numerous people, including employees and customers, were inside; however, none appeared to be seriously hurt…
