WESTMINSTER, Colo. (KDVR) – A Westminster home is heavily damaged after investigators say lightning is the likely cause of a fire during Tuesday night’s storm.

The fire broke out around 5:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Lexington Avenue as thunderstorms moved through the area.
“Crews arrived to find flames coming from the attic area of the home,” Emily Raisch with Westminster Fire said.
