U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Denver arrested two Honduran men who were released on bond last week after they were charged with attempted murder in a Boulder County road rage case. The Boulder County District Attorney’s Office has criticized the agency for posting incorrect information about the charges the men are facing.
ICE Denver said in a Wednesday morning X post that its agents had arrested Fabio David Escobar-Munguia and Yerlin Levi Munguia-Hernandez. The agency said in the post that Escobar-Munguia would be deported and Munguia-Hernandez would remain in custody while immigration proceedings were pending.
The two men were arrested June 11 in the Arvada area after police say one of them shot at another vehicle while the two were driving on U.S. 36 in Boulder County. No one was injured in the shooting, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. Both men were charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree assault, in addition to counts of menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, and crime-of-violence sentence enhancers, according to online court records…
