Wildfires are pushing smoke into Grand Valley, and conditions are expected to carry throughout the week

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – Air quality across Colorado is fluctuating as several wildfires continue to burn, with smoke from fires in southwest Colorado and southeast Utah drifting into the Grand Valley.

Denver and Montrose were under unhealthy air quality conditions earlier Monday, while Grand Junction sat at a moderate level.

As of 9 p.m. Monday, Grand Junction’s Air Quality Index was 54 — moderate — while Montrose’s was 162 — unhealthy. According to the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, both Montrose and Mesa counties are under Air Quality Health Advisories for Wildfires until Tuesday at 9 a.m.
