Metz sentenced for shooting teenager taking homecoming photos in 2024

DENVER (KDVR) — Nearly two years after a teenager was shot in the face while looking for a place to take homecoming pictures, the man convicted of the shooting was sentenced.

Brent Metz, who was found guilty in June of third-degree assault and illegal discharge of a firearm, was sentenced to four years of probation and three months of work release for the September 2024 shooting.

The verdict was mixed, however, as the jury found him not guilty on two counts of felony menacing.
