Dad shares warning for parents after son dies suddenly on summer vacation

A Colorado father is speaking out after his 5-year-old son died after developing a rare disease during a summer vacation.

Viet Vu of Denver, Colorado, said his son Justin fell sick suddenly while on a trip to Oregon with his mom, Terese Peden, and his siblings.

“Justin was a happy and healthy little boy. He was playing T-ball. He ran around and played outside all the time. And out of nowhere, he’s gone now. And it just doesn’t really make any sense,” Vu told ABC News.

Vu, a radiologic technologist, described his son as “super sweet,” someone who loved to meet new people and make them laugh. He said he wanted to share Justin’s story to raise awareness about the condition doctors ultimately diagnosed him with, systemic capillary leak syndrome, also known as Clarkson’s disease or Clarkson’s syndrome…
