On Sunday afternoon, lightning struck Colorado’s 14,264-foot Mount Blue Sky fourteener, killing one teenager, causing serious injuries in a second minor, and injuring three more adults.
Clear Creek County emergency responders, Denver Mountain Parks, Alpine Rescue Team, Clear Creek EMS, the Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. The Forest Service all responded to the incident after receiving a call at 1:22 p.m. amidst rapidly building thunderstorms.
