‘Steel Across America’ tour brings World Trade Center beam to Colorado

A nationwide tour dedicated to the preservation of American history is making a stop in Denver today, commemorating 25 years since the attacks carried out on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Tunnels to Towers Foundation, a nonprofit that helps families of 9/11 first responders and veterans, is holding a ceremony at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum today at 11 a.m.

The foundation is transporting a 16,900-pound steel beam that was recovered from the rubble of the World Trade Center buildings, and travelling with it across the country as a tribute to first responders and their families…
